Add New Music / Beats
EDD: Downloads → Add New. Woo: Products → Add New. (BeatStore → Beats is a shortcut to that list.)
Enter a title and featured image (artwork). Beats without a featured image use BeatStore → Settings → Default artwork if you set one. Buyer files stay in EDD Download Files or Woo Downloadable files — BeatStore does not add a delivery-file field.

Genre and mood are taxonomies (beatstore_genre, beatstore_mood) in the post sidebar and under BeatStore → Genres / Moods. They are not Download Categories. Categories can still organize EDD/Woo archives; they do not drive player nav tabs (those tabs are gone in 4.x).

Licenses (EDD)
Enable variable pricing on the download (Create price variations). Names and amounts live in Prices. Attach a file per price in Files. On each variation, BeatStore adds Exclusive and, with Contracts, Contract. Buying the exclusive price marks the beat sold (the post stays published). Choose No exclusive license if none of the prices should sell the beat.
With BeatStore Contracts active, Add all licenses (or Add missing licenses) adds a variation per enabled template that has a default amount and is not already listed. Save the download, then attach files. Other digital products can skip that button and keep a single EDD price.
Licenses (WooCommerce)
4.x: set license names, prices, and the exclusive flag in the BeatStore Licenses table, then save. Attach buyer files on the variations Woo shows after that save.
That save is what creates the catalog:
- A global License attribute, the first time you save licenses on any product.
- A term per license name.
- The product type switches to Variable.
- One variation per license, virtual and downloadable.
With BeatStore Contracts active, Add all licenses (empty table) or Add missing licenses (some rows already there) adds a row per enabled contract template that has a default amount and is not already listed. Names, prices, exclusive flags, and the PDF pick come from the template. Existing rows are left alone. Confirming saves the product so Woo variations exist; a new product is saved as a draft. You can still add or edit rows by hand.
You should not add License terms under Products → Attributes, pick those terms on the product, save attributes, or click Generate variations. Woo will show the attribute and variations after BeatStore writes them. Keep editing names and prices in the BeatStore table so variation ids stay stable for Contracts.
Removed in 4.x as the documented workflow: creating a global “License” attribute by hand, “create variations from all attributes,” and guessing exclusive from the word “Exclusive.” Exclusive is a column on that license row (or No exclusive license).
Filled PDFs after purchase are a separate plugin: BeatStore Contracts. On Woo with the player, pick a template in the Contract column on each license row. On EDD with the player, pick it on each price variation. The Contract templates sidebar is only for sites where the player is not installed.
Duplicate a finished download or product when you add the next beat if you prefer not to use Add all licenses, then change title, preview, and files. That copies the priced licenses so you do not re-enter the same tiers.
