BeatStore WordPress Plugin

These articles are for BeatStore 4.x (the Player Plugin rewrite). Catalog posts are Easy Digital Downloads downloads or WooCommerce products.

Still in 4.x: stream previews, sell licenses, checkout through EDD or Woo, deliver buyer files from those plugins. Optional: Protect uploaded previews so Media Library previews use an expiring link instead of a permanent /uploads URL.

Gone in 4.x: Widget 2 / 3 / 4, ACF fields, producer banner, visualizer, Player Nav Categories, a separate Embed admin with Widget/Players tabs. Place the player from BeatStore → Place Player, the [beatstore] shortcode, or the BeatStore Player block. Mailchimp free-download is under BeatStore → Integrations. Lifetime plays are under BeatStore → Analytics. Google Analytics play events stay under BeatStore → Settings.

  • Introduction: WordPress Hosting · BeatStore 4.x needs WordPress 6.5+, PHP 8.1+, and hosting that can serve audio.

  • Protect uploaded previews · Preview links expire. Your uploads folder does not get a permanent MP3 URL.
  • Integrations · Mailchimp free-download gate, SoundCloud previews, Dropbox share links. Credentials live in WordPress options.
  • Analytics · Plays leaderboard, country map, and free-download stats in BeatStore → Analytics, plus optional Google Analytics / GTM play events.
  • Block Editor + Elementor · Insert the BeatStore Player block, or paste [beatstore] in Elementor’s Shortcode widget.
  • REST API · Your catalog is a REST API on your domain. Same endpoints the BeatStore player uses.

  • Upgrading from 3.x · Keep download/product IDs. Run BeatStore → Import (dry run, then write). Widget 3 features that did not come forward.
